CMSS would like to say a very big thank you to Ruel Lawrence and the friends of the Freemasons Society who kindly donated £800.00 to our charity
Unfortunately, early October 2019 CMSS was flooded and as a result most of the premise was ruined. As you can imagine it took a lot of work, time and commitment to restore itself and thank fully we were back at CMSS in December.
One of the areas that was ruined was the training kitchen, this is an area in which the clients are taught basic skills such as cooking, washing, ironing and further skills. These are very important skills which they will take with them when they move into supported or independent living homes.
At this moment in time the Kitchen is an empty shell waiting to be restored, the works will be starting on the 23rd March and will take approx. 4 weeks to be completed.
The very kind donation from the Free Masons Society will be used towards purchasing an accessible oven. This oven is especially designed for adults with disabilities, the doors from the oven slide into a specially designed area so a wheelchair user can safely use without the obstruction of the oven door.
The clients of CMSS chose this oven and are extremely excited that we are now able to purchase this item with your donation. The remaining funds will be used towards accessible cutlery.
