Careers at the Skills Development Centre are fulfilling, interesting and extremely rewarding. We work with people of all abilities and aim to achieve the highest possible standards, whilst offering everyone involved in the Centre a wealth of opportunities. The charity encourages employees and volunteers from all walks of life and different cultures. As our client group is so diverse, we feel our support team should also reflect this.
To ensure that we are always up to date with legislation and continue to move with the times, our staff and support teams are constantly encouraged to take up any training opportunities, alongside our annual mandatory training.
Besides the joy of working with people with (dis)abilities, the charity continues to invest in its innovative service and actively motivates all team members to bring forward new ideas and suggestions. Being an independent charity helps to allow for a quick response to the ever changing needs of its service-users.
We offer a range of different roles at the Centre, from hands on roles like Community Field Workers to office based Admin staff. You will find our current vacancies listed here. If you feel that you have the skills required for any of our positions, and would thrive in a caring environment, we would love to hear from you.
We also welcome volunteers, be it for a few hours a day or a couple of days a week, we can always do with another pair of eyes and hands! If you are looking for a career change, or just want to give something back to your community within a rewarding and caring environment, we would be more than happy to meet with you to discuss volunteering opportunities.
Work & Study Experience
The Skills Development Centre also actively encourages a better understanding of disability awareness. Besides extensive community participation for its service-users, the charity also welcomes work and study experience students from all over London and beyond.
The Skills Development Centre has been fortunate enough to meet and offer placements to people who have been undecided on their career path or who are looking to return to work after a career break. In many of these cases the charity has been able to assist in building the confidence of those individuals and encourage further training, a career change or re-employment.
If you would like to find out more about what we as a community have to offer to Employees, Volunteers or Work Placements, please do not hesitate to contact Naheed Judge (you will find our contact details on the contact page of this website)
Our Clients are now looking for work experience within the local area. If as an employer you feel you could offer a placement, however small, then please give us a ring. We are a fun loving group, whom enjoy a good laugh and a sense of belonging. Being part of a team is what we are about. We have varying skills, so I am sure we could fill that niche!
